I'll overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Ex two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
