The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Soldiers Table

Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the city.

Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced

The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of characters who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.

The combat-focused team consists of Teor (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.

Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.

What Defines the Warrior Group

Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.

Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the actions of episode 3 show why these five characters are ideally matched for the combat party.

Motivations for Departure

To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.

A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, attacking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.

Casimir then settled his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each character has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:

  • The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, wants revenge.
  • Kattigan knows the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
  • Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their status as key figures in the powerful family could enable the party reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Moreover, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.

Fugitives

Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that control the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:

  • Thimble and The character are known criminals.
  • The warrior and The healer betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.

This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.

Future Episodes

According to episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the rest of the participants to round up the Seekers and Planners parties.

Audiences can look forward to discovering which characters will be in which group in the story’s final introductory chapter, released on the upcoming Thursday.
